Quest Tailormade

CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING HOW DOES IT WORK

Step One: Understanding

Our first meeting will give you the opportunity to understand even more about Quest’s philosophy in changing the world. It also allows us to understand your organisation as well as you needs and requirements. We can also discuss any CSR issues that need to be addressed and your initial interest in Quest Tailor-made – whether it is to donate to a project, sponsor a team of graduate volunteers or send your employees on a volunteering program. We will immediately be able to talk to you about the different potential options available to you. Personnel from your organisation that you should consider inviting to this meeting include: the HR Director, CSR Director, the Head of department (if considering employee volunteering), Trustee of your company’s charity (if you have one).

Step Two: Design

After the first meeting, we would expect to have a clear idea of the types of project that you are looking for as well as any add-ons that you are considering. With this information we can provide you with different options based around donation amounts, time-scales to completion as well as any volunteer team sizes if this is relevant. The options will be sent to you clearly outlining project description, aims, benefits in short-term, medium-term and long-term as well as cost breakdowns and how your money will be spent over time.

If you would like to send a team of employees or graduates overseas we will also provide you with food, accommodation, any training options you require and additional costs details. Once you have had time to digest this information we would arrange for our Operations Director to meet you to discuss each option, answer any questions you may have and work with you to help you decide which project fits your requirements most specifically.

Step Three: Preparation

By this stage, the project will be agreed and a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed. The majority of the work will be down to Quest to prepare everything for your company. Work depends on which option you are following for your organisation.

Donation to project overseas. Our Operations team will liase with project partners overseas to agree the details of achieving the projects aims – from sourcing materials to finding local staff to work on the project to looking at architectural plans to getting any necessary government permissions.

Sponsoring a graduate team. As well as organising the project donation as outlined above, Quest works with you to produce marketing materials to publicise the project to graduates – from setting up websites to organising presentations to producing fundraising packs (if required) to holding online sessions.

Quest can also help you select graduates – our usual policy is to ask graduates to apply, filter down the applications and interview applicants if necessary before selecting the final team. Once selected, each volunteer is sent a full briefing pack available online or as hard copy.

We will also liase with our training partners to help design your training schedule. Our Operations teams will organise our leaders and project partner facilities to ensure everything is ready for the team to arrive, finalise all the logistics for the overseas team, booking transport, accommodation and any additional tours that have been requested. Sixty days before departure, Quest will run full pre-departure volunteer training to ensure each graduate is prepared for their time overseas.

Employee volunteering program. As well as organising the project donation, preparing marketing, selecting and preparing employees and preparing all overseas operations as outlined above in ‘sponsoring a graduate team’, Quest works with you on all liability, insurance, health, safety and risk assessment issues so that you can assured of a successful overseas program.

If you would also like a training program integrated into your team’s time overseas, we will work with you and our training partner to design a program suited to your company’s needs. We can also work with a preferred training supplier of yours if you prefer.

Step Four: Project

Team departs. In-country orientation. Project commences!

Step Five: Evaluation

Project ends and employees return home. Welcome home pack is sent to all employees with details on how they can continue to support the project and how they can use their experience in the future. Quest provide updates on the project over the next year and advise on how employees can continue to support the project.
